The Role
The following prior knowledge, relevant qualifications or experience will be considered desirable:

  • Well-developed skills and demonstrated experience in project management at an exceptional level;
  • Demonstrated application and knowledge of project management principles;
  • Excellent written communication skills, including attention to detail and an ability to produce high-quality briefs and papers;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and ability to develop and maintain effective internal and external working relationships;
  • Demonstrated planning and organisational skills, including ability to meet deadlines with competing priorities in a complex, changing and high-pressure environment;
  • Ability to operate under broad direction with independence to think critically, analyse and solve very complex or sensitive problems and make decisions that are based on professional judgement, evaluating evidence and risks in the context of a complex and changing environment; and
  • Strong collaborative and team focused attitude, with a proven ability to contribute to a positive, inclusive and supportive team culture.

ICT Delivery Division (ICTDD) is the Division within the Chief Information Officer Group delivering modern, secure, sustainable and scalable information environment for Defence. The Division enables current and future military and business operations through program and project management. An APS 6 Project Support Officer will be able to operate under broad direction with independence to think critically, analyse and solve very complex or sensitive problems and make decisions that are based on professional judgement, evaluating evidence and risks in the context of a complex and changing environment. They may be responsible for managing a range of program/project activities including the production, delivery and management of project schedules, budgets, reporting requirements, delivery of project artefacts and the identification and resolution of issues.
